Reciting poetry enriches pronunciation vocabulary and memory, helps to develop confidence and master effective public speaking, and engages empathy and insight. 

Participating students from 3rd to 8th grades recite a poem of their choice from a pre-selected list provided by the ESU Chile. 

Interschool participants send the ESU Chile an MP4 format video presentation of their recitation for the First Round (virtual) and our experts in public speaking evaluate their delivery, expression, clarity, and interpretation of the poem. 

Our judges then make a selection of the participants that will go on to the in-person semifinals and finals.
