Spelling Bee 2023, 31 August & 1 September

Lincoln International Academy, Lo Barnechea. 2023 Winners of the Traveling Trophy for Outstanding Achievement Award in Spelling Bee

After a few years of hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, our Spelling Bee came back loud and clear: every corner of our country must surely have been able to hear the spelling of our students from 3rd to 8th grade!

We pity those who weren’t there on the day, as they missed some very exciting and nerve-wracking moments of increasingly difficult spelling. We salute all schools participating, but above all the students that had the courage (and stamina) to stand up on stage and represent themselves and their schools. Chapeau.

Our hosts for the event were The British Royal School who offered to do so at very short notice. They did a wonderful job and made us all feel very welcome. Hope to have you hosting us again in future events!

We would like to thank, Carol Herrera, our liasion and General Academic Coordinator at the school, and her wonderful team of technicians and admins who made things run so smoothly.

A big special thanks goes to all our judges, who sometimes have to take very tough choices and tell students on stage that they have to come down because of very small details. Big applause to: Marta García, Svetlana Griazova, Leonardo Hevia, Raisa Kosar, María Jesús Reyes and Isabel Sepúlveda.

Last, but certainly not least, we’d like to thank our MC for the event, Angélica Durán, who did a marvelous job as well as making the students feel welcome and at ease on stage. Not an easy task!

Our Traveling Trophy for Outstanding Achievement in Spelling Bee this year went to Lincoln International Academy, Lo Barnechea, as they collected the most points for participation, rounds passed and top places. Congratulations!
