Students develop arguments to which they apply critical analytical thinking.  Participants improve poise, speech delivery, public speaking skills, self-confidence, focus, information retention, and collaboration skills

Every year, some of the country’s most talented young debaters face each other in a series of inter-school debates that are held over 4 weekends during the second semester.

Each of these dates, including the semifinals and finals, consist in two debate matches per team. The first match has a planned motion that is given to the teams a few days before each date to prepare. The second is an impromptu debate, where the motion is given on site and each team has an hour to prepare. 

Based on style and content, the best debate teams advance to the Semi-Finals and Finals. The competition´s winning debate team is later invited to join Team Chile for the World Schools Debating Championship
